It's still in January, but we already have a strong candidate for football's best goal of 2011. In matchday 19 of La Liga competition, Ruben Gracia Calmache aka Cani scored a fabulous goal from 52 m! He helped his team, Villarreal, won the match against Osasuna by 4-2.
The goal happened on the 50th minute of the game, where the score was still 1-1. When the ball was loose from the possession of Osasuna midfielders, Cani just kicked it with first time shot from the half-line. Osasuna goalkeeper, Ricardo Lopez, can't do anything to stop the lob shot, because he was already out of position. The goal made Villarreal lead by 2-1.
Cani, 29, is a right midfielder who already playing in Villarreal since 2006. He currently holds the ace number 10 in this club. Too bad he hasn't been able to make cap for Spanish national team. With this 14th goal for the team, he confirms Villarreal as the third best team in La Liga, below Barcelona and Real Madrid.
